Logo Contest Official Rules and Guidelines
The object of this contest is to design a logo for the Prince of Wales Vocational and Technical Education Center (POW VocTEC), whose mission is to address the career preparation, employment and training needs of residents of the Prince of Wales Island, Alaska through the establishment and operation of a regionally-serving vocational and technical learning center.
Ideally the submission reflects the communities we represent here on POW and acknowledges the land that we are living on, Tlingít Aaní.
Submission Guidelines:
The purpose of the contest is to design a logo for the Prince of Wales Vocational and Technical Education Center to be used online, in print, on merchandise, on business cards, etc.
Flexibility is a key requirement, including the need to resize easily and to look good in black and white as well as color. The final version of the logo will need to be suitable for high quality printing.

Prizes:
The winning design will be announced in early 2023.
The winning designer will receive:
- A $500 cash award.
- A commemorative award with the winning design engraved upon it.
In order to claim the prize, the winning entrant must sign a release form. By claiming the prize and signing the release form, the winner releases POW VocTEC, its officers, directors, and staff, from any and all claims, liabilities, and damages arising directly or indirectly out of the award and use of the prize.
The Fine Print:
- All submitted work must be original and not based on any pre-existing design.
- All Entries will become the sole property of POW VocTEC and may be displayed publicly on POW VocTEC web sites, social media, correspondence, marketing materials, merchandise, and all other manners of branding.
- The winner will be required to sign a contract assigning all ownership of the logo to POW VocTEC.
